Regain Your Resiliency

  • Treatments Offered

My treatment plans are geared to get you going toward your goals as efficiently as possible while minimizing side effects.

We will utilize any number of the following strategies in our time together:

Medication management through personalized blends of western (allopathic) medications and herbal medications/supplements

De-prescribing for those who feel they would like to simplify their medication regimens while maintaining stability.

Traditional laboratory workup and functional medicine analyses to evaluate whether any underlying illnesses or nutritional imbalances are contributing to your symptoms

Pharmacogenetics testing to determine genetic factors that may contribute to your experience of medication effects

I look carefully at each person’s general health, nutritional status, and day to day routines to find areas that could be improved through lifestyle modifications. I then create a plan to incorporate these changes in a way that respects you as an individual, and is in line with your overall values.

  • Areas of Focus

I treat individuals from age 18 to 65 for anxiety, trauma/PTSD, depression, ADHD, and bipolar spectrum illnesses. I have specific interest in working with individuals who are struggling with their mental health in the midst of a life transition, stress (entering or leaving college, first/new jobs, marriage, divorce, etc), and parenting.

I can also provide second opinion consultations to primary care providers for patients who hope to maintain their care within their primary care setting, but would like expert input on diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication changes.

  • Treatment Process

STEP 1: We will begin by getting to know each other in a short phone consultation appointment. This will be a time for you to ask questions and decide if my practice is right for you. If we do decide to move forward in treatment we will schedule a 75-90 minute telemedicine based appointment for a comprehensive discussion of your current symptoms, history, and goals.

STEP 2: Before our first appointment you will be invited to my patient portal where you will have access to scheduling features, secure messaging, and any needed paperwork. You will be asked to fill out consent forms, background questionnaires, and initial rating scales at least 2 days prior to our first appointment. This allows me to review these in-depth prior to meeting with you so that we can make the most of our time together in session.

STEP 3: We will meet to discuss your history, the challenges that are most concerning for you at present, and your goals. Evidence-based treatment relies first and foremost on knowing that you are treating the right things with the right approach. A thorough evaluation is the cornerstone of my treatment methodology.

STEP 4: If appropriate, I will order laboratory tests and discuss the need for any additional referrals. I may also request your permission to review records from other members of your care team or to speak to them directly in order to coordinate care. Once additional data is gathered, I will review your results and discuss next steps with you at our follow-up visit.

STEP 5: Follow-up appointments are scheduled at regular intervals to ensure that our treatment plan is meeting your needs. I can offer a 25 or 50 minute follow-up appointment depending on your needs. When starting or changing treatment we will typically meet every 2-4 weeks for close monitoring of effects and tolerability. Once stable and goals are met, most patients are seen every 3-6 months. You will also have access to me through my secure messaging portal should questions arise between appointments.
